Why Would Anyone Use Ancient Mysteries to their Advantage?

Using the light of history to review these issues, it is fairly easy to draw the conclusion that many of Joseph Smith Jr’s fantastic claims, and those things that required ‘faith’ for the early believers of Mormonism, can today be seen for what they were -- deceptions.

In the context of the 1820’s and 1830’s look at these claims this way:

1. •Visitations by angels and personages ... try to prove it didn’t happen.
   

2. •Found gold plates ... try to prove it didn’t happen.
   

3. •Native Americans the lost tribes of Israel ... try to prove it isn’t true.
   

4. •Reformed Egyptian ... try to prove it didn’t exist.
   

5. •Smith translating Egyptian ... try to prove he was wrong.
   

6. •Restored temple ceremonies ... if you were a Mason, disclosing the ceremonies was a death sentence -- try to prove he was lying.
   

Now we are duty bound, as truth seekers, to objectively shed the light of history on Joseph Smith Jr’s fantastic claims.

Not only can none of these claims be be backed up by documented historic record, objective corroboration, or reliable/non-Smith-friendly sources, in fact history disproves many of them!

1. •Native Americans ... overwhelmingly proven to be the descendants of Asians.
   

2. •Egyptian ... the Rosetta stone proved that the Book of Abraham is a fabrication, and there is no historic record of anything called Reformed Egyptian -- not to mention that the historic language and records of the houses of Israel is Hebrew.
   

3. •Restored temple ceremonies ... we know now that these ceremonies were lifted from the Free Mason temple rites.
   

How many lies must Joseph Smith Jr. be caught at before you will open your eyes? How much deception will you accept under the guise of faith?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is dishonest about its history. It masks the truth, hides truth, and spins fabrications around uncomfortable issues such as those raised here. Open a history book, and open your eyes!
